Electric Bicycle and Scooter Regulations
New rules now in the city code covering where e-bikes and e-scooters can ride, safe operation around pedestrians, site-specific restrictions, and enforcement. Councilors signaled openness to tweaking the rules if police find enforcement problems.
Major overhaul of building, planning and zoning ordinances
A proposed ordinance would reduce setbacks for small storage sheds and detached garages under 200 square feet. A 30-year resident told the council most homeowners don't know current setback rules and estimated 65% of properties aren't in compliance; the change could save owners from tear-downs and $3,500 surveyor costs. It passed second reading with no council discussion — final vote comes next meeting.
